Which Exams to Write?
There are number of entrance examinations conducted every year for
the admission process of management school or business school (B-school) and a
number of b-schools/management institutes have already started online
application for the admission procedure.
When talking about the exams for the admission process of various
B-School, the first thing that comes in the mind is Common Aptitude Test which
is popularly known as CAT, most of the pioneer colleges and universities use
CAT score for their admission process. Some of the most prominent B-schools of
India are 13 IIMs in Ahemedabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Lucknow, Indore,
Kozhikode, Shilong, Ranchi, Rhotak, Raipur, Trichy, Kashipur, and Udaipur. They
use only CAT examination for their admission process and not only these, there
are other top B-schools like MICA,SP JAIN, MDI - Gurgaon, NITIE- Mumbai,
IMT-Ghaziabad etc. who also use the CAT score. Then there are other b-school
examinations for the entrance of different Business schools. Firstly, MAT
(AIMA- Management Aptitude Test) which is conducted 4 times in a year by All
India Management Association (AIMA) if the candidate is eligible for the
entrance which is graduation in any discipline. The examination will be offline
or online according to the preference of the candidate.
XAT (Xavier Admission Test) which is conducted by Xavier school of
management. There are many more institutes which use XAT scores for their
admission process. The examination consists of three categories ''Verbal
Ability and Logical Reasoning (VA)’, ''Quantitative Ability and Data
Interpretation (QA)’ and ''Analytical Reasoning and Decision Making Ability
(AR)’ and 'General Awareness'.
Symbiosis National Aptitude Test which is commonly known as SNAP
which is conducted by Symbiosis group of Institutes including SITM, SIBM, SIMS
etc. in which the student should be graduate with at least 50% marks. NMAT is
also an examination which is conducted by Narsee Monjee Institute of Management
for the MBA course offered by it. CMAT or generally known as Common Management
Admission Test is conducted by All India Council for Technical Education
There are some other entrance examination tests conducted by
various B-school for the admission process to management courses offered by
them such as ICET, IIFT, MAH MBA CET, IBSAT etc.
