The candidates aspiring to crack the JEE Main and Advance must know certain facts about the examination which will definitely help in planning and preparing for the exam. The JEE Main will have 2 papers (Paper 1 for BE/B.Tech and Paper 2 for B.Arch./B.Planning). Both the papers will be of the duration of 3 hours. Questions in Paper 1 will consist of questions from three subjects which are Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Paper 1 will have objective type questions and it will be conducted in online as well as offline mode. Paper 2 will have questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and drawing and Aptitude test. Paper 2 will only be conducted in offline mode.  Both the papers will have a total of 90 questions. The candidates will be awarded 4 marks for every right answer and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. 

The syllabus for the examination will be based on the syllabus prescribed by CBSE for higher secondary level. The candidates will be given a total of 3 attempts for JEE Main. The candidates must keep all these facts about the examination in mind so as to prepare smartly for the JEE Mains.
