Preparation for B.arch Course


The students aspiring to shape their career as architects opt the course of B.Arch. The students need to get admission into the institute which offers this undergraduate programme. B. Arch is offered by various renowned institutes across the country. To get admission into this programme students are required to appear in the entrance exam which is conducted by concerned authority and to pass in the exam. There are various entrance exams such as National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA), Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED), All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Exams, Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Exam (IIT JEE), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Engineering Entrance Exam, Birla Institute of Technology & Sciences admission Test (BITSAT) and Annamalai University Engineering Entrance Exam etc. which are conducted to take admission into the programme of B.Arch. To prepare for the entrance exam, the students must be aware of the eligibility criteria, syllabus and pattern of the papers. There are several coaching institutes across the country which offers preparation course and guidance for the examination. The students pursuing B.Arch. get very well paid and secured jobs in construction industry. All the construction works being done now a day need unique design and infrastructure. These designing tasks need skilled and knowledgeable architects.

General Guidelines:

The basic need of preparation of the any course is the interest in that field of education. The aspirants should have genuine interest in the field of architecture. They must be good in drawing skill and should possess imaginative and creative mind. He/she must fulfill the eligibility criteria declared by examining authorities.

Exam Pattern:

Generally the entrance exam papers contain objective type questions on the subjects Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Beside these, there is a test of drawing and aptitude after the examination of PCM. The primary motive of this exam is to test mental ability, creativity, drawing skills and artistic sensitivity of the candidates. The duration of exam may vary according to the exam and examining authority.

Planning:

Well planned tasks lead to success. The students must create a time table for preparation, study and other activities. They must prepare for the exam by dividing the whole syllabus into portions and divide set milestone on daily, weekly or monthly basis that how much he/she have to complete. Practice papers play a vital role in preparation for B.Arch. The students can practice by using previous year exam papers or may participate into test series offered by several institutes.
