JEE Main 2015 Topper: 16-year-old Pranay Agarwal makes the cut
Clearing JEE Main 2015 was never a cake walk for this year’s topper, Jaipur based Pranay Agarwal, as he has to sacrifice his days and nights into vigorous preparations and quality analysis in order to gain the satisfying result he wanted to obtain. Pranay Agarwal scored an overall of 341 out of 360 with hard work, concentration and focus. A student of Cambridge Court High School, Jaipur, he become one of the youngest toppers in the history of JEE Mains, at just in the age of 16.
He is a perfect sweet-sixteen lad, shy to speak and very nervous at times. He is a big-time fan of cricket and football, and has an interest in sports as well. Commenting on his victory, he said, “I worked really hard for this, making myself, my parents and my teachers proud. Regular appearance for tests conducted at my coaching institute – Allen made me aware of several complications I need to work on, and made me experienced enough to manage my time. Now I can apply for my dream college-IIT Mumbai. In an outspoken conversation, Pranay shares his preparatory strategy and future plans:
Q. How do you feel, being one of the youngest JEE Main 2015 toppers with a score of 341?
Pranay: Well, It feels great and really privileged to see myself in all the news and papers, and amongst the list of the toppers. I am really happy to make my parents proud, but this is just a beginning. I know how much I have worked hard to get here and how much I have to work in the future.
Q. You expected this score?
Pranay: To be honest, I was expecting a total score of around 340, but was uncertain regarding others on national level.
Q. So, tell us the secret: your planning strategy?
Pranay: Since the beginning, I tried to manage my time, scheduled every subject in accordance with their weightage and consistency-Physics, Chemistry & Maths. Regular studies at school, coaching and home helped me to clear my fundamentals and confusions.
Q. What are your preparations for JEE Advanced 2015?
Pranay: I am practicing last year papers and mock tests for JEE advanced and keep an eye on regular updates as well.
Q. Can you mention your overall score?
Pranay: My total score in JEE - Main is 341, Physics-115, Chemistry- 116, Maths -110.
Q. Name the dream institute you want to get admission into along with the branch of engineering?
Pranay: I wish to plan for my admission and study at IIT Mumbai under my preferred choice, Computer Science & Engineering.
Q. Besides studies, what are your hobbies?
Pranay: I love playing outdoor games, whenever I get time. I am a big cricket fan, so I really enjoy playing cricket with my colony friends. Also, hearing music is my way of relaxation.
