A web portal has been created to facilitate the process. This process will consist of three rounds. The first round will begin from 1st July 2015, the second and third round will commence on 7th July and 12th July respectively.
On the meeting held on 2nd May 2015, Joint Seat Allocation Authority made the announcement for the Joint Seat Allocation. The meeting comprised of representatives from IITs, ISM Dhanbad, NITs, IIITs and other technical institutes.
The IITs, NITs/IIITs and Govt. funded technical institutions earlier has separate counseling process. This would allow some of the candidates to receive admission offers from both counseling process. The common counseling would help in getting rid of this issue and a student will get admission from only one institute which can be either an IIT or an NIT/IIIT/GFTI.
