How to crack IES Exam
IES-Indian Engineering Service exam is one of the best exams for recruitment of engineers. This exam is conducted by UPSC (Union public service commission).IES is the common entrance exam of engineers for all the government sectors like railway, defence, energy, and telecommunication. The candidates who get selected for the post of IES officers are appointed by the president of India on the recommendation made by the Union public service commission.
The IES entrance exam consists of a written exam (Section 1 & 2) and an interview. The written exam is divided into two sections in which Section -1 consists of objective type questions and Section -2 consists of conventional (essay) type questions. The entire question paper is designed to cover syllabus of the relevant engineering subjects like Maths, Physics, and English. Candidates must answer all the questions in English language only.

A Tibetan refugee who had permanently migrated to India before January 1, 1962 is also eligible to apply for this IES exam. The candidates of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Vietnam; Ethiopia etc. are also fall under the IES eligibility criteria. The candidates’ age should lie between 21 to 30 years. The candidates applying for this exam must be physically and mentally fit. The candidates should have an engineering degree (B.E/ B.Tech) from a recognized University of India.

The candidates must have the skills of good writing and presentation. He/she should be aware of exam pattern, exam duration, negative marking weightage etc. Aspirants should have good grip on English language and current affairs and they should develop and maintain their habits of reading newspaper. They should practice previous year question papers in a given time limit. They should try to learn new English words and learn their antonyms and synonyms too on a daily basis.
