Cabinet announces six new IIMs commencing in 2015 to have 140 intakes

As per the meeting of the Cabinet  conducted on June 24, the results are rather intriguing and very efficient. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the petition of setting up 6 new Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) in the country with the very commencement form the academic year 2015-16. The number has increased from 19 to 23. As per the update shared and constituted by the Press Information Bureau, each IIM will commence its batch with an intake of 140 students in the Post Graduate Program (PGP) courses with a temporary campus.

Admissions will be granted through Common Aptitude Test (CAT). New IIMs will start their batches from July-August, 2015 and has released the list of the new reputations, as per the table:

IIM Ahmedabad

IIM Vishakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh)

IIM Bangalore

IIM Sirmaur (Himachal Pradesh)

IIM Lucknow

IIM Amritsar (Punjab)

IIM Kozhikode

IIM Bodh Gaya (Bihar)

IIM Calcutta

IIM Sambalpur (Odisha)

IIM Indore

Currently, IIM Nagpur, Sirmaur and Bodhgaya have commenced their admission processes and released admission criteria and schedule. CAT cutoff remains the same for these IIMs, i.e. 96.30 percentile.
