IIT JEE Advanced 2015: Mock Seat Allocation To Begin today
Presently, this is the first of its kind that there is a Joint Seat Allocation process for Admissions to Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and National Institute of Technology (NIT). On a conclusion and putting an end to all the doubts and claims, the process of Mock seat allocation for JEE Advanced 2015 is all set to begin from today itself, on 4th July 2015 via online at the official website www.jeeadv.iitb.ac.in .
The mock seat allocation process will be conducted from 8 am to 5 pm on July 4. In the beginning itself, the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) online portal received 58,000 registrations with almost 21 lakh choices completely filled out. Out of these, estimated 13 lakh students were recorded for admission to IITs, filling in 5.6 lakh choices.
This back lash in the registration process will result in pushing back the academic year by a week, resulting in the direction of some of the classes over the weekend so that the students are able to accomplish their syllabus and terms within time. The reason of the delay was pending declaration of JEE Main 2015 Paper 1 and Paper 2 ranks by CBSE.
A total of 87 institutes, 17 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), 31 National Institutes of Technology (NITs), 18 Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), 18 Government Funded Technical Institutions (GFTIs) and Indian School of Mines (ISM) are participating.
