UPSC Announces Civil Services Exam Results: Four of Five Toppers Are Women
Finally, Civil Services candidates will seek a breath of fresh air, as Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the Civil Services Examination Results in order to provide necessary selection for IAS and IPS officers. A senior official was quoted,” For the first time that the Commission is declaring the final results within four days of the closing date for the personality tests or interviews. The Commission will declare the final result of the civil services examination, 2014, on Saturday evening.”
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) board is held responsible for direction of Civil Services Examination every year, as it is considered as one of the pioneer examinations in India in order to gain a significant profile within Indian Administrative systems. The Board conducts the exam in three parts, i.e. Preliminary, Mains and Interviews, for the notable selection of candidates for the elite Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS), among others.
Last year, Civil Services Preliminary Examination was organized on 24th August at 2,137 venues in 59 centres country-wide. With 9.45 lakh applications, 4.51 lakh performed in the examination, and 16,933 steered their way for the Main examination.
Civil Services Main Examination Results were announced on March 13 this year, and further 3,308 candidates were chosen for the Personality Test round, which were conducted from April 27 to June 30. With a tremendous result, four women topped the list this year, with their significant names being Ira Singhal (Rank 1), Renu Raj (Rank 2), Nidhi Gupta (Rank 3), & Vandana Rao (Rank 4) respectively. This proved to be a significant boost to the women society, and established another flagship in their cap!
