Lawyer shows hope to expelled IIT-Roorkee students

IIT Roorkee has expelled 73 students for their poor performance in the first year B.Tech programme. All of the students were asked to sign an undertaking at the time of admission. In that agreement, it was well mentioned that poor performance could result in elimination from the institute.

The students are planning to move to the Uttarakhand High Court. As per the lawyer, there are bright chances of High Court taking up the case. The Lawyer Said "We have enough strong grounds to move the high court in this case. I can't talk more about the details given the sensitivity of the matter.” According to lawyers, there are no guidelines like this in any other IITs stating that if students fail to score the required CGPA, they will be expelled without given a chance of back paper or improvement.

Students are very hopeful and look up to the lawyers fighting for their rights. As per IIT Roorkee being the firm over the decision it took, let us see how the case will be directed and in what favor it will be ordered.
