Karnataka Postgraduate Common Entrance Test: Exam schedule


With the announcement of the exam date of the Postgraduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) 2015 conducted under the directive of Karnataka Exams Authority (KEA), there is a little time left for the students to prepare and stay updated.

According to the news, the exam will be held on August 8 and 9. The examination is conducted for post-graduate admissions to Master of Technology (M.Tech), Master of Engineering (M.E.), Master of Computer Application (MCA), lateral entry to MCA, Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Architecture (M.Arch.).

Eligibility criteria:

The criteria are briefed down for the following courses:

MCA: Candidates are required to gain a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any of the following disciplines from a recognized university or equivalent with a minimum of 50%:

  • Mathematics
  • Statistics
  • Computer Science
  • Computer Application
  • Computer Programming
  • Business Mathematics
  • Business Statistics

M.E., M.Tech and M.Arch: Candidates are required to gain a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in their particular disciplines from a recognized university or equivalent with a minimum of 50% in their qualifying exam.

Application Process

  • Go to the official website, www.kea.kar.nic.in, to apply for the exam.
  • General and OBC Candidates will have to pay a total amount of Rs 650 as fee charges, and SC and ST Candidates will have to pay Rs 500.
