4 DU Colleges to propose B.Voc Courses from the Next Year
4 colleges under Delhi University will soon be proposing Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) course in nine different categories, precisely being TV Programming, Printing Technology, Web Designing, Editing and Animation from the very next academic period.
Some of the colleges certified by University's Academic Council (AC) include Maharaja Agrasen College, Kalindi College, Jesus and Mary College, and College of Vocational Studies.
Nachiketa Singh, DU professor and AC member, was recorded stating, "The proposal for offering these courses at the said colleges was passed by the AC. The same will now be sent to the University Grants Commission (UGC) for its approval and then the modalities would be worked out for their introduction.”
Maharaja Agrasen College was approved of proposing the course in two disciplines, Maharaja Agrasen College and News Production; Editing and Animation. Similarly, College of Vocational Studies took the initiative to offer the course in the disciples Software Development and Retail Marketing.
Jesus and Mary College took the charge of proposing the course with disciplines Healthcare Management, IT And Software Development and Retail Management and Kalindi College has been permitted to offer courses in Travel and Tourism, Printing Technology and Web Designing.
UGC certified a three-year B.Voc course following the need of recognition for vocational studies rather than concentrating most of the time on regular arts, commerce and science streams.
