Civil Services Exam: committee to be constituted to review all issues
The issues related to age relaxation, eligibility, syllabus and pattern of civil services examination shall be examined by an expert committee, said the government on Thursday.
Jitendra Singh, minister of state for personnel, in a written reply to Rajya Sabha said, “The central government has received various representations on issues concerning the scheme of civil services examination (CSE) including for relaxation in maximum age limit and setting of question papers in the regional languages in the civil services (preliminary) examination.”
He further said that the government has decided to form an expert committee to carefully examine various issues that have been raised regarding the eligibility criteria, syllabus, scheme and pattern of CSE.
To select candidates for top positions like IAS, IFS and IPS, civil services examinations are conducted in the country. It is conducted in three phases- preliminary, main and interview.
