Rechristening of UPTU as APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University
In the loving commemoration of India's former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Azad, Uttar Pradesh government recently announced the decision of rechristening of Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) as APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University.
Akhilesh Yadav, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, declared the change on July 31 stating that the university will comprise of a new block in the fond memory of Dr. Kalam with a grand memorial properly set up.
As Dr. Azad took his last breath on July 27 with the reason being a massive heart attack while giving away educational lecture to the students within the campus of IIM, Shillong, he left millions to shed tears. His last rites were performed at Rameshwaram. Akhilesh Yadav took the opportunity to pay a heart-felt tribute to him, his beliefs, his qualities of guidance, mortality and his enlarged contribution within the genre of Science.
The Vice Chancellor, UPTU, stated that the faculty is planning on initiating a postgraduate and research institute within the University for Research Facilities. Several courses delivered under the affiliation are B.Tech, MBA, MCA, BBA, BCA, PGDCA, M.Tech, etc.
This has been a heart-warming gesture by the UP government, and has made his name immortal on academic grounds.
