IIT Tirupati’s journey begins
Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati's journey has begun and the classes for its first academic year 2015-16 have started today. The orientation ceremony was conducted on August 5 and the first batch of the institute was welcomed and congratulated by the MHRD minister Smriti Irani.
Four B.Tech programmes are offered by IIT Tirupati namely, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Each B.Tech programme has 30 seats.
The faculty members of IIT Tirupati include experienced faculty members from IIT Madras, its mentor institute, and others with experience in teaching at other IITs.
Doctors from SVIMS are conducting medical check-ups for the students, which shall be over by the end of the week. The hostel facilities were made functional from August 3, 2015.
