Extension for RTE school education from nursery to grade X
With a huge reform counting within the educational sector, the right of children for free and obligatory education may include school academic system from nursery to class X, if only CABE, one of the biggest Advisory body for Centre and states educational sectors, would approve of the proposal.
The Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE) will be expected to consider a report submitted by its sub-committee on RTE Act extension and the criticism faced by no-detention policy in front of the panel lead by Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani on August 19th.
Currently, the act defines students between the ages of 6-14 years enrolled in the class-I-VIII. In regard with RTE’s extension up to secondary classes, the sub-committee offered some serious steps, such as infrastructural valuation, nomination of supplementary teachers and commended discussions.
CABE will also be overseeing the issues with no-detention policy up to class VIII. Geeta Bukkal, the then Education Minister of Haryana, suggested doing away with the norms and issues, as involuntary elevations affected learning conclusions.
