CBSE proposes to make Class X board exams compulsory again?
According to the speculations circulating, board exams in Class X will be made compulsory to attend again. The Central government is thinking of scrapping off the no-detention policy so introduced under the Right to Education Act – in a timely manner.
Schools under the affiliation of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will also be ruled in this decision. This issue will be conducted within the premises of the Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE), and attending officials will be Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry, State Education Ministers, Authorities and Academicians.
This will be considered the first time CAVBE will be addressing a meeting since the establishment of a new government.
According to the norms of the No-Detention Policy, students are waived off to the next class without any detainment or detention, even if they fail to secure a passing grade. The policy is relevant for students up till class 8th.
