Smriti Irani invites proposals on new education policy
Today, Smriti Irani who is the HRD Minister of India invited proposals from Teachers and students of CBSE schools on the new educational policy, the draft of which is relied upon to be prepared by end of the year.
Exhibiting the CBSE awards to teachers in front of the national teacher’s day celebration on September 5, the Minister also favored presentation of three new awards categories including a classification that perceives a teacher’s achievement in promoting education in rural areas.
She said,” CBSE should also be involved in drafting the new national education policy and should ask the students and teachers about their views, the inputs of which should be collected by November 15”.
The new education policy looks to include participants from cross sections of the society including the teachers and students. She requested CBSE to constitute three awards classifications, congratulating teachers who promote performing arts in rural zones.
34 teachers from across the country and abroad were presented the CBSE award for their advancements in classroom teaching. The selection of the awardees is in light of the scholarly proficiency and desire for improvement, interest and standing in the group, love for kids and duty towards the field of education.
Mentors are chosen on the premise of their training experience, professional guidance and initiative creative practices. These awards consist of a Merit certificate, a shawl and a cash prize of Rs 50,000. The process of selection is both rigorous and transparent.
