Delhi Government’s Education Loan Scheme
An education loan scheme of up to INR 10 lakhs has been announced by Delhi’s AAP government on Wednesday.
Education Minister Manish Sisodia launched this scheme by issuing cheques for the first 25 beneficiaries.
"The government is with the students whose parents don't have property as a guarantee to avail loan for their education," Sisodia said at the launch of the scheme. "We will take their guarantee and give them a chance to study and not let finance become a hurdle in their education," Education Minister Sisodia said.
Students, who have qualified their intermediate (10+2) examinations and want to pursue higher studies, are eligible for this loan scheme. One year of moratorium will be provided to the students after completion of his/her degree or diploma course. Students can reimburse the loan over 15 years through EMI.
