University of Calcutta: Admission Process Begins for M.Phil. Programmes
University of Calcutta has opened its gate for admission to its M.Phil. Programme for the upcoming session. The programme is open for various disciplines such as Hindi, English, Urdu, Sociology, Philosophy, History, Bengali, Commerce, Sanskrit, Pali, Women Studies, Ancient Indian History and Culture, South and South East Asian Studies, Education, Political Science and Library and Information Science. Eligible candidates can apply for this programme according to their area of interest.
The candidates applying for the programs must have completed their M.A., M.Com. or M.Sc. degree with a minimum aggregate of 55% (50% for SC/ST category) from a recognized university. Candidates appearing for their final year examination are also eligible to apply. Candidates having score card of tests, such as NET, SET or any other national level examination can appear for the interview directly.
Students can get the application form from the official website of the university, i.e. www.caluniv.ac.in. Candidates need to fill the application form carefully and send it to the university. Candidates are required to mention the course name they are applying for, on the envelop encasing.
Candidates belonging to general category need to pay an amount of INR 500 and for SC/ST candidates the application fee is INR 250. The application payment can be made through demand draft (DD) drawn in favor of 'University of Calcutta' or 'C.U.'.
Selection will be made on the basis of written test and those who qualify the written test will be called for personal interview.
Last date for the submission of application form is September 23, 2015.
