Dr. Parija appointed as the new Director of JIPMER
Dr. Subhash Chandra Parija has been appointed as the new Director of Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (Jipmer), Puducherry. Union ministry of health and family welfare has approved the appointment of Dr. Parija for a period of 5 years or till he reaches the age of 65 years.
Dr. Parija has an experience of 30 years of teaching & research in Medical Microbiology and has also served as Dean of Research. He has been asked to constitute guidelines on food safety as he is also a Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) expert.
He is awarded Professor BK Aikat award 1998 by the Indian Council of Medical Research and Dr. BC Roy National Award of the Medical Council of India 2003 for contribution to the development of medical microbiology. Dr. Parija has also authored 10 books and more than 267 papers in national and international journals.
Dr. Parija has also been conferred the DSc. degree, the highest degree in research. He is also the founder-president of the Indian Academy of Tropical Parasitology and he is also working as Editor-in-Chief of the online journal, Tropical Parasitology and Internet Journal of Parasitic Diseases.
