CTET: 7.5 lakh candidates turn up for the exam

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test was successfully conducted across the country on Sunday. It was the eighth edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) for the appointment of teachers for class 1st to 8th. According to CBSE, around 7.5 lakh candidates appeared for the exam.

A CBSE official said, "The examination was conducted in time and no untoward incident has come to the notice of the Board. The question papers were reported by students to be set as per the syllabus prescribed and was well balanced".

The test was conducted at 959 centers in India and abroad with almost 7.5 lakh candidates turning up for the exam.

Apart from the Board’s officials at each centre, the board has deployed more than 16,000 observers to ensure smooth and transparent conduct of the exam.
