New B.Voc degrees introduced by GGSIPU
The 10 vocational study programmes are set to be introduced by GGSIPU in this academic year. The B.Voc (Bachelor of vocational studies) programme of Guru Gobind Indraprastha University in refrigeration & air conditioning, software development, automobile, construction technology, mobile communication and other related fields is to be conducted at 9 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) from next month onwards.
Many universities have been introducing Undergraduate programme in vocational subjects over the past one year as per the instructions given by University Grants Commission under its National Skill Qualification Framework across the country.
In Delhi, GGSIP University is planning to introduce these courses this year. The dean of University school of Engineering and Technology, BVR Reddy said, ‘Students will earn degrees at the end of three years. Moreover, they may pursue further education after completing their undergraduate degrees."
