Punjabi University plans to start 20 New Colleges from the upcoming session
In order to increase effectiveness and quality in higher education provided to girls, Punjabi University is planning to initiate the process of building 20 new colleges. The process of building these colleges would be initiated in backward and remote areas in state border of Punjab, under the supervision and initiative taken by the Government of Punjab.
Dr. Manjeet Kaur, Professor, Education Department, Punjabi University, Patiala; Dr. Sher Singh, Assistant Professor, Chunni College, Patiala; Dr. Parveen Kataria, Director General, Aryans Group of Colleges; Dr. Manjula Kataria, Principal; Prof. B.S Sidhu, Registrar; Prof. A.P Jain, Director; Ms Amita, Coordinator were some of the dignitaries present there during the event.
During an interaction with the media, Dr. Dillon said that Punjabi University shall introduce courses various skill based self-reliant courses like Fashion Technology, Food Processing and Cosmetology along with the traditional BA and B.Com programmes. These courses can be pursued and completed along with the regular courses. The programmes aim to make one able to run a business, be it small-scale or large-scale.
