J & K Govt to Contribute 67.47 Crore for NIFT’s New Campus
J & K Government is looking forward to establish a new permanent campus for National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) and is contributing INR 67.47 crore as state’s share in the project. The cost of this NIFT project is estimated to be around INR 325 crore.
The center has agreed to share the set-up cost of the New NIFT with the state government. This new NIFT will be established on about 160 kanals of land at Ompora, situated on the outskirts of Srinagar.
At present, this institute is offering certificate courses of 6 months duration in fields like studio photography, illustration in design and fashion apparel. NIFT is also looking forward to provide regular undergraduate courses of 4 years duration in Fashion Communication and Fashion Designing for the upcoming session.
