IIT-Dharwad plans to start its maiden journey with 250 students
IIT –Dharwad is planning to start its first batch with 250 students for the upcoming session. The institute is likely to be mentored by either IIT Bombay or IIT Hyderabad. At the initial stage, IIT –Dharwad will operate from a temporary campus.
B.Tech (CS – Computer Science) and B.Tech (EC – Electronics and Communication) programs will be offered by IIT Dharwad in its maiden session commencing in 2016.
It will be functioning from Water and Land Management Institute in Dharwad till the time its permanent campus is built.
Dharwad has been chosen as the final place for the setting up of IIT in Karnataka as only Dharwad has necessary facilities of all the three places chosen by the government.
