JEE may be replaced by GujCET in Gujarat
Gujarat government is planning to replace Joint Entrance Test (JEE) with Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GujCET). These exams are compulsory for the candidates who wish to take admission in Engineering & Pharmacy programmes.
Due to the counselling process of JEE, too many students have to go to another state for higher studies. This decision will bring relief to over 1 lakh students.
GujCET test is expected to be based on the second year syllabus of class 12 of Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board. Gujarat chief minister Anandiben Patel has made an appeal the educational department of Gujarat to take the rightful decision. This proposal will be helpful for those students who want to pursue higher studies and don’t wish to migrate.
