Summer Internship Placement 2015 in XLRI over with steep rise in stipends
Summer Internship Placements in Xavier School of Management (XLRI) have been completed. The whole first year batch of session 2015-2017, got their internship opportunities in a record time of 2.5 days. This batch is the largest ever batch in XLRI with 360 students.
A total of 95 companies participated in the placement process, in which 92 companies offered internships to the students. The highest internship stipend offered was INR 2.5 Lakh per month and the median stipend offered to the students of this batch was INR 65,000. The top recruiters were Accenture Strategy-13, Microsoft -12, HUL-11, Flipkart-10, ABG-9, Citibank-9, Snapdeal-9 and Vodafone -9.
Many renowned organizations participated in the recruitment drive. Some of the top organizations were Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Tata Trust, E-Vidyaloka etc. Each of these organizations selected two students from XLRI for Internship.
Fr. E Abraham S.J, Director of XLRI said, “Summer Internship provides the much needed industry exposure and first-hand training to our students. It is good to see our students getting offers across diverse industry sectors and markets in India and abroad. It is an affirmation of the all-round integral formation we at XLRI strive to impart to our students. We are overwhelmed that this year the process was completed within the shortest time span ever – in just 2.5 days.”
The section-wise split of the students selected for placements were as follows:- Consulting-13%, Conglomerate -12%, FMCG-21%, BFSI -14%, E-commerce & start-ups -8% and the remaining 32% in Automotive , Pharmaceuticals, Oil & Gas, Power, Technology, Media, Retail, Telecom etc.
