221 students from NIT Jamshedpur placed in a single day
National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jamshedpur conducted recruitment drives for students in which 221 students were selected by three renowned IT companies. Wipro, Infosys and IBM were IT companies that participated in the recruitment drive.
Total of 159 students were selected by Infosys with annual packages of 3.63 lakhs for M.Tech students and 3.28 lakhs for B.Tech. and MCA students, IBM selected 61 students with annual package of 3.50 lakhs and 59 students were selected by Wipro with annual package of 3.3 lakhs.
A professor in-charge of placement said, "In all, 279 jobs have been offered to our final-year students (passing out year 2016) by three IT companies, out of which 221 were selected on a single day."
Professor also said, “In last October Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) recruited 164 students on a single day, offering a pay package of Rs 3.34 lakh per annum to each student. Last week HP recruited five students offering a package of Rs 10.5 lakh per annum. Tata Metaliks recruited two students each from electrical and metallurgical stream offering Rs 7.5 lakh per annum.”
He added further, "The ongoing placement drive at our college has been quite good with several leading companies across diverse trade fields selecting a bunch of students from different disciplines.”
Till now, total jobs offered in this institute are 441 for this session. In the earlier recruitment drive, Philips selected 8 students, Maruti Suzuki recruited 6 students, Larsen and Turbo Construction Company recruited 21 students.
