IIT-Kharagpur collaborates with 3 Israeli Universities
The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur has collaborated with three universities of Israel. This collaboration is established to facilitate student exchange programme, faculty visits and research collaboration in computer science, aerospace and agriculture.
Director of IIT Kharagpur P.P. Chakrabarti headed the academic deputation from India. Recently, MOUs have been signed with Ben-Gurion University (BGU), Hebrew University and University of Haifa during the visit of President Pranab Mukharjee.
Computer science, aerospace, agriculture and food engineering are the strong areas of these Israeli Universities and it will be easy to establish synergetic relation in areas of academics and research, said Chakrabarti.
He also added, "We are planning some unique student exchanges, faculty visits and research workshops and projects.”
These Israeli universities and IIT-K will co-operate with each other in joint academic activities - teaching and supervision of students, faculty exchange programmes, students and scholars, joint research and exchange of research materials, joint conferences, workshops, study-abroad programmes.
