Zakir Hussain College is part of Delhi University and is located in Connaught Place, Delhi and established in the year 1824. It has a large faculty of learned and highly qualified teachers. It offers various courses for undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the field of Humanities, Commerce and Science like B.com, B.Com (hons), B.A. (HONS) in English, Hindi, Bengali, History, Persian, Mathematics, Philosophy, Sanskrit, Urdu, and BSc. (HONS) in Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology and many others. This college has an extensive library with a collection of more than 1,15,000 books. It has a well-fuctioning career counseling and placement center.

Institute Description

Zakir Hussain College, established in Delhi is one of the pioneer institute offering quality courses for both Undergraduates and Graduates. The institute is centrally located near Ajmeri Gate and is easy accessible by bus. The institute is equipped with more than 175 faculty members and all other neccessary facilities including library and book bank. In 1975 the College which is currently managed by the Zakir Husain Memorial Trust, was renamed Zakir Husain Delhi College and shifted to the new campus outside the Turkman Gate in 1986. Apart from academic excellence, the institute offers loads of extracurricular activities and programs. The college has introduced the faculty mentor scheme in 2007-08 under which each student is attached with one faculty member for the entire academic session.
