Central University of Kerala is one of the 15 new central universities which have been incorporated by the act of Parliament No 25 to promote education in far flung areas where higher education needs to be promoted as to decrease the ratio of people who are not educated. It was implemented in the 11 UGC plan. As of now Central university of Kerala is offering only postgraduate and research/doctorate programs. The courses are administered independently by the five schools which are: School of Global Studies School of Comparative Literature School of Global Studies School of Biological Sciences School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences The above stated schools are more like Departments in charge of their individual field of study. The Post graduate courses offered at Central University of Kerala are: MA (Comparative Literature) MA (Economics) MSc (Biochemistry and Molecular Biology) MSc (Animal Science) MSc (Genomic Science) MSc (Physics) The research/doctoral degrees that are taught at Central University of Kerala are: MPhil /PhD in Economics MPhil /PhD in Comparative Literature Currently the campus building of Central University of Kerala has provisions for classrooms, faculty housing, Computer Labs, administrative offices, library. The staff is helpful and helps the students seeking admission by guiding them in their search for accommodation. Central University of Kerala plans on breaking the rigidity between fields of study and inter department hurdles. The objectives are to promote and train suitable candidate to build a strong pool of talented and educated people who will go on to help in making the country more advance and be the frontrunners in technological and research innovation.
