The Golaghat Commerce College was built on ninth October, 1972 and classes were begun in the premises of D. R. School at night shift with all aid from Dr. M. K. Saikia, the then Principal of D. R. School. The school offers courses in the field of administration and business. The College is obliged particularly to its organizer teachers, parts, givers and people in general of Golaghat District as a rule for their liberal commitment and help in securing the school. The school has two different Hostels for young men and young ladies inside the school grounds.
The Golaghat Commerce College is situated at Jyoti Nagar, outside the Municipality area, hardly 3 km, away from town bus stand and easily approachable from J. G. Path and D. R. College road. The Golaghat Commerce College was established on 9th October, 1972 and classes were started in the premises of D. R. College in the evening shift with all assistance from Dr. M. K. Saikia, the then Principal of D. R. College. The College was shifted to its own temporary building at its permanent site on 2nd November 1973. Since then the college has been making strides to its permanent buildings and other equipments. The College is indebted specially to its founder lecturers, members, donors and the public of Golaghat District in general for their generous contribution and help in establishing the college. The founder Principal of the college was Late P. R. Neog, M.A. (double) LL.B., who retired on 31st December, 1995. The college has been making steady progress in academic as well as extra academic spheres. It has already earned reputation in all spheres like games, sports and other cultural and literary activities. The student of this college normally top the list of successful candidates in the Final Examination of the Dibrugarh University. The pass percentage is always higher than the percentage of AHSEC and DU. Accommodation: The college has two seperate Hostels for boys and girls within the college campus. There are limited number of seats and are alloted strictly on the basis of merit. The students should apply for Hostel seats in a separate Hostel Application Forms received from the college's office. The boarders are to abide by the Hostel's rules, copies of which will be given by the Superintendent. Violation of Hostel Rules may lead to expulsion from the hostel as well as from the college. A woman Hostel is completed in this year. Scholarships: The following Scholarships are available :

[v] All other Scholarship as awarded by the Govt.
