UPESEAT is an aptitude based entrance exam lead by University of Petroleum & Energy Studies so as to study further within engineering programs functioning under the university campus. University has made both Online & Offline mode available, and has set some rules and regulations before applying for UPESEAT 2015. Last year, this exam took place in 39 various cities around India, and around 29,000 aspirants appeared for the exam. This concludes to be a common entrance test conducted for admissions in engineering courses.

Admission via UPESEAT 2015 (80% seats)

Candidates must pass their 10+2 or equivalent exam affiliated and acknowledged from any reputed academic university with at least 60% of total marks. Also, a summative of 60% is mandatory in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

2. Admission via Board Merit/JEE (20% seats)

  • Board Merit:

A minimum of 80% of total marks is required in the 10+2 board under the recognition of any reputed academic board. Also, a cumulative of 80% is required within Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

  • JEE Main 2015:

A minimum of 60% of total marks is required in the 10+2 board under the recognition of any reputed academic board. Also, an aggregate of 60% is required in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Age Limit: The age limit should exceed on or after October 01, 1993.

The selection procedure comprises of the scores and rankings acquired in UPESEAT 2015 along with Integrated Counseling Sessions via Merit rank for Non Exam Category.

The exam will comprise of five sections:

  • Physics: 50 questions
  • Chemistry: 50 questions
  • Maths: 50 questions
  • English Language Comprehension: 30 questions
  • Current Affairs Awareness: 20 questions
  • Total: 200 questions
  • Exam Duration: 3 hours 
  • Online: Candidates can apply for the exam via online mode, and need to fill the form and pay the fees using Debit/Credit Cards or Net Banking
  • Offline: Candidates have the accessibility to buy the application and the prospectus from the selective admissive centers within the demographics of Ahmedabad/Chandigarh/Cochin/Coimbatore/Delhi/Dehradun/Hyderabad/Kolkata/Mumbai.

Application Fees is Rs.1750 and is payable via cash within Offline mode and Rs.1850 for paying online via card (Debit/Credit) or through Demand Draft (DD) drawn out in favor of "UPES Fee Account" and billed at New Delhi/Dehradun along with a request letter.

Counseling Process will be a precisely affair with centralized counseling on the cards with 80% seats reserved for candidates qualifying the UPESEAT 2015 & 20% for candidates qualifying via Board Merit or JEE Main 2015 scores. It is mandatory for candidates to attend the counseling sessions personally along with original certificates with him/her for verification and seat allotment.
