The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun conducts a national level exam to screen candidates to be selected for the various management programs offered by it. Half of the total seats are filled in through tests like CAT, MAT and CMAT and the rest half is filled through the UPES-MET examination.

The seats for various MBA programs offered by the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) is filled in through the UPES-MET examination. The UPES-SET 2015 is computer-based national level entrance exam that will be held between a five day window period starting from 12nd February 2015 to 16th February 2015.

The candidates wanting to appear for this examination must have a graduation degree from a recognized University and must have also scored an aggregate of not less than 50% marks in X, XII and graduation. Variations in the eligibility criteria varies from program to program. 

The UPES-MET is a national level management entrance exam that aims to gauge the aptitude of the candidate appearing for the exam in the fields of General English, Quantitative Aptitude and Data Sufficiency, General Knowledge and Logical Reasoning. These are the four sections into which the whole paper will be divided and each of these sections will have 35 objective type questions, the total of which will be 140 questions. The total duration given to complete the paper is 150 minutes.

On the basis of the marks scored by the candidates, the shortlisting of candidates is done by the institution conducting the UPES-MET which is followed by the group discussion and interview processes of the shortlisted candidates. A final merit list containing the names of the selected candidates is published after taking into consideration the performances of candidates in all three rounds.

The application procedure for the UPES-MET 2015 takes place in both online as well as offline mode. To through the online mode, candidates must visit the official website. By obtaining a hard-copy of the application form the candidates can go through the offline mode. The fee to appear for the examination is INR 1750 for offline mode and INR 1850 for the online mode.
