Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai also popularly known as TISS offers a Master’s Degree in Social Work and various other programs related to field of social sciences. The admission of students into this course is done by conducting an exam called the TISSNET to facilitate the screening process.
TISSNET (Tata Institute of Social Sciences National Entrance Test) is an exam that is conducted by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences to facilitate the admission process aimed to screen quality students to be selected for the masters program offered by the institution.

The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline and must have also obtained an aggregate of not less than 50% marks. The students pursuing graduation and are in the final year may also apply to appear in the exam.
The shortlisting of candidates will be done on the basis of the TISSNET scores. The shortlisted candidates will then have to attend the Pre-interview test which will be followed by the Personal Interview. The components considered in the selection process comprises of National Common Written Test which is of 150 marks, Pre-interview test which is of 50 marks and Personal Interview which is of 75 marks. All these add-up to make a total of 225 marks out of which the scores secured by the candidates will be the basis for final selection.
TISSNET exam is aimed to gauge the knowledge of the candidate in the fields of Social Sensitivity, knowledge on contemporary issues, analytical ability and logical reasoning. The exam will be of the duration of 100 minutes (1 hour and 40 minutes).
