Anna University conducts a state level entrance exam called TANCET on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu for candidates aspiring to join MBA programs offered by Universities and institutes located in Tamil Nadu.
The Universities and Institutes in Tamil Nadu use the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test also popularly known as TANCET to facilitate the admission process for the various postgraduate management courses.

The candidates wishing to appear for the TANCET exam must have a graduation degree from a recognized University and must have also obtained an aggregate of not less than 50% marks. The candidates belonging to the reserved categories must have obtained an aggregate of not less than 45% marks.
The paper set for the TANCET exam is a paper-pencil based exam which consists of multiple choice objective type questions. A total of 100 questions will be there in the question paper. The question paper consists of 5 sections which are English Language & Comprehension, General Awareness, Logical and Analytical Ability and Communication Aptitude
A merit list will be prepared by the institute conducting the TANCET examination and the shortlisting of candidates will take place on the basis of the merit list. The candidates will be allotted seats and B-Schools on the basis of the merit list created.
The candidates wishing to pursue MBA programs through TANCET exam must fill the application form which are available in both online and offline modes. The payment for the examination has to be made by the candidate which can be done either by cash or demand draft.

The eligible candidates will receive the admit card though the internet if the online approach to fill the application was used. The candidates who submitted the forms in person will receive the admit cards from the Coordinating centers.
The candidates shall receive their mark sheets within 10 days from the publishing of the TANCET results.
