For the admission to the post graduate courses in Master of Surgery (MS) and Doctor in Medicine (MD) and various diploma courses in the government medical colleges and self-financing institutions in the state of Tamil Nadu, a state level entrance exam is conducted by the Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, called the Tamil Nadu PG Medical Exam.

To apply for the TAMIL NADU MEDICAL exam the candidates must have a citizenship of India and must also have passed the MBBS course and must also have completed the CRRI period in the state of Tamil Nadu. The candidates who are natives of Tamil Nadu and have passed MBBS programme, if are able to produce the certificate of their nativity, are also eligible to appear for the exam.

The candidates wishing to apply for the Tamil Nadu PG Medical exam must visit the official website and download the application form. The candidates must fill the application form as per the given instructions with all necessary attachments and send it via registered/speed post to the address mentioned below. The candidate must also make the payment for the application fee by drawing a demand draft of INR 2000 in favor of Secretary, Selection Committee, payable at Chennai.

The Tamil Nadu PG Medical exam is a state level exam and is of the paper-pencil format. The syllabus will include all subjects of the MBBS programme. The question paper shall consist of a total of 200 question, all of which are objective type multiple choice questions. 1 mark will be awarded to the candidate for every right answer and no negative marking will be done. The admit card for Tamil Nadu PG Medical exam that contains the applicants name, roll number, exam center and examination instructions can be downloaded by the eligible candidates from the official website one week before the exam. The candidates receiving the admit card must paste a passport size photograph which has to be duly attested by a gazetted officer.

Within one week of commencement of the examination the results for Tamil Nadu OG Medical Exam shall be declared.
