The Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations Kerala conducts a state level medical entrance exam for the admission to undergraduate level medical courses like MBBS and BDS offered by the government, private self-financing and government controlled self-financing medical and dental colleges in the state of Kerala. The selection of candidates will be done for 1,895 MBBS seats and 840 BDS seats through the Kerala Engineering Agriculture Medical Entrance Examination (KEAM Medical).

The candidates wanting to appear for this examination must have passed XII board examinations and must have also studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The candidates applying for the exam must have scored an aggregate of not less than 50% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology taken together and 50% in Biology/Biotechnology individually. The candidates who are studying in XII are also eligible to apply for the examination. The candidates applying to appear for the examination must have attained 17 years as on 31st December 2015. The candidates must also have an Indian Citizenship.

The syllabus for the examination will be based on what is prescribed by the CCE. The Examination is composed of two separate papers which are i.e. Paper I and Paper II. The paper I will have Physics and Chemistry and Paper II will have Biology. Both question paper will contain a total of 120 questions to be completed within 150 minutes. The candidate will be awarded 4 marks for every right answer and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. To apply for the KEAM Medical exam, the candidates must first visit the official website read the instructions carefully and then fill up the application form which will start from 10th January 2015. After the candidates fill the application from, submit it online. A printed copy of the application form has to be sent to the address mentioned below along with all the supporting documents before 4th February 2015.  

The admit card will not be sent through post. The candidates must visit the official website to download the admit card which shall be available since 23rd March 2015. The information regarding the date, time and venue and all the other exam related information will be mentioned on the admit card.  

The declaration of the KEAM Medical exam will take place on or before 20th May 2015. The declaration of results will only be done for the qualified candidates.

The selection of candidates will be based on the final scores secured by the candidates in both the papers. The candidates who score more than 50% marks will only be eligible for the admission process to the MBBS/BDS course. However the candidates belonging to the SEBC and SC/ST categories should have scored above 40% marks to be eligible. After the declaration of the results, a merit list will be published and the candidates will be called on for the Centralized Allotment Process for the allotment of seats to medical or dental colleges.
