The Siksha O Anusandhan University conducts a national level entrance examination called the Siksha O Anusandhan University Admission Test (SAAT) which aims to facilitate admission procedure for undergraduate level medical courses like MBBS and BDS offered by Institute of Medical Sciences & Sum Hospital and Institute Of Dental Sciences located in Orissa.

The aspiring candidates for this examination must have passed XII board examinations and must have also studied Physics, Chemistry, English and Biology. The candidates applying for the exam must have scored an aggregate of not less than 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken together. The candidates who are studying in XII are also eligible to apply for the examination. The minimum percentage requirement for candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC and Physically Handicapped categories is 40% and 45% respectively.

To apply for the SAAT Medical exam, the candidates must first visit the official website, read the instructions carefully and then fill up the application form which will start form 21st December 2014. The application can be filled on both online as well as offline mode. A printed copy of the application form has to be sent to the address mentioned below through registered/speed post, along with all the supporting documents before 4th April 2015. 

In the SAAT exam, the questions will essentially be from three subjects which are Physics, Chemistry and Biology. 60 minutes will be given to the candidates to attempt each subject i.e. a total of 3 hours for the whole SAAT exam. Physics and Chemistry will contain 120 multiple choice questions and Biology will also contain 120 multiple choice questions. The candidate will be awarded 4 marks for every right answer and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. 

The admit card will be downloaded by candidates from the official website of the University. Towards the last week of April 2015, the admit cards for SAAT 2015 will be dispatched at postal address mentioned by candidates during the filling up of forms.

The declaration of the SAAT 2015 exam will most likely be declared on 20th May 2015. This result will be the basis of preparation of the merit list as well as the final calls for the counselling process.  No score card shall be dispatched by the university to the candidates at their postal address.
