The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (popularly known as JIPMER) conducts a national level entrance exam to facilitate the admission procedure for undergraduate medical course i.e. MBBS. The selection of candidates will be done for as many as 150 MBBS seats through this examination.

The aspiring candidates for this examination must have passed XII board examinations and must have also studied Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English and Biology/Biotechnology. The candidates applying for the exam must have scored an aggregate of not less than 50%. The candidates who are studying in XII are also eligible to apply for the examination. The minimum percentage requirement for candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC/OPH categories is 40%. The candidates applying for this examination must have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December 2015.

The syllabus for the JIPMER MBBS 2015 will be prescribed by the examination authority i.e. JIPMER. A total of 200 questions which will be multiple choice and reason-assertion type will be present in the question paper. The questions will come from four subjects which are Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and Comprehension. The candidate will be awarded 1 mark for every right answer and negative marking will not be done for wrong answer. Physics, Chemistry and Biology will contain 60 questions each while English and comprehension will have 20 questions. 

The application form for the JIPMER medical exam will be available online to the candidates. The candidates must fill the form correctly and then submit the form online. The application procedure shall begin from 2nd March 2015 and continue till 4th May 2015. The applications that are incomplete shall be summarily rejected by JIPMER. 

The candidates must also make the payment for the application fee which can be done through Credit Card, Debit Card or Net Banking along with service tax as applicable. The fee for general and reserved category students is give in the following table:

The admit card can be downloaded by candidates from the official website. Towards the second week of May 2015, the admit cards for JIPMER Medical 2015, containing the details of the candidates like their name, roll number, exam center, time and examination instructions, will be made available on the website. The admit cards will not be sent through post.

The declaration of the JIPMER Medical 2015 exam will most likely be declared by the second week of June 2015. This result will be the basis of preparation of the merit list as well as the final calls for the counselling process.  The declaration of results will be done only for the candidates who’ve qualified the examination. Based on the results, a merit list will be created and the candidates will be allotted seats according to the availability of seats.
