A national level Post Graduate entrance examination is conducted by the Christian Medical College (CMC) Vellore for the admission to MD/MS and Diploma courses offered in 26 streams by the college. The selection of candidates for about 109 MD/MS seats is done through with this exam.

The candidates applying for the CMC Vellore PG must have an MBBS degree of Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University or any other university recognized as equivalent by the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University and Indian Medical Council. The compulsory rotating residential internship must also be completed by the candidate to stand eligible. 

The exam will be a computer based exam consisting of two types of papers which are General and Special paper. The duration of both the papers will be 3 hours each. Both the papers will have 240 questions each. Multiple choice questions drawn from all subjects taught at the undergraduate level medical course will be there in the General paper. Multiple choice questions in the specialty for which the candidate has applied to, will be there in the specialty paper.

The application form for the CMC Vellore PG will be available from 20th October 2015.  The application can only be filled through online mode. The candidates must also make the payment for the application fee which can be done through Debit card/credit card/net banking or Demand Draft or Bank challan. If the candidates chooses to pay through demand draft, it must be drawn in favor C.M.C. Vellore Association a/c in any scheduled bank payable at Vellore. The candidates must also send their supporting documents to the office of registrar, CMC Vellore.

The admit card can be downloaded by candidates from the official website. The admit card containing the details of the candidates like their name, roll number, exam center, time and examination instructions, will be made available on the website from 9th January 2015 for the candidates to download.

The results shall be declared on 27th January 2015 for the CMC Vellore PG Stage I exam. The candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in stage I to appear for stage II exam. The declaration for stage II exam will be done on 12th February 2015.

A merit list will be created on the basis of the marks scored by the students in entrance exam. The declaration of results will be done only for the candidates who’ve qualified the exam. Based on the ranks of the candidates in the merit list, the allotment of seats will be done.
