The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) conducts a national level entrance examination called the All India Post Graduate Dental Entrance Examination (AIPGDEE) for the admission to postgraduate Dental programmes including Masters of Dental Surgery in various dental colleges in India

The candidates who want to apply for this examination must have a citizenship of India and must also have passed the BDS from a college recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI) or a foreign degree included in the schedules of the Indian Dental Council Act, 1956. The candidate must have also completed one year of compulsory rotating internship as on 31st March 2015. A permanent registration certificate must also be obtained by the candidates from the DCI.

The duration of this examination will be 3 hours and the question paper will consist of 300 questions, all of which will be multiple choice questions. The questions will be based on the syllabus prescribed by the DCI. The candidates will be awarded 4 marks for every right answer and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

The application form will be made available to the candidates in online mode which shall start from the 25th November 2014 and will continue till 22nd December 2014. After filling the application form, the candidates must also make a payment for the application fee of INR 1000 which has to be paid in the form of bank challan which can be downloaded online and paid at any State Bank of India branch across the country.  The application fee for the candidates belonging to the SC/ST categories is INR 800.

The admit card containing the details of the candidates like their name, roll number, exam center, time and examination instructions will be available on the official website of the exam conducting authority from 12th January 2015. It shall not be sent through post to the candidates.

The declaration of results will take place within one month of the conduction of the exam which shall be uploaded on the official website. A merit list will created on the basis of the marks scored by the students in entrance exam. The declaration of results will be done only for the candidates who’ve qualified the exam. Based on the ranks of the candidates in the merit list, the allotment of seats will be done.
