A national level entrance exam is conducted by the Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune, for the admission process to MD/MS/Diploma and MDS course. The selection of candidates for about 121 MD/MS seats and for diploma courses will be done through with this All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Test (AIPGMET) and the selection of candidates for about 49 MDS seats will be done through with the All India Post Graduate Dental Entrance Test (AIPGDET).

The candidates who want to apply for this examination have passed the MBBS/BDS from a college recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or the Dental Council of India (DCI). The candidates must have also completed one year of compulsory rotating internship.

The duration and the number of questions vary in AIPGMET and AIPGDET examination. The questions will be based on the syllabus prescribed by the examination conducting authority. The candidates will be awarded 1 mark for every right answer and no negative marking will be done. The table below explains the pattern of both the question papers.

The application form can be accessed by the candidates online on the official website. After filling the application form, the candidates must also make a payment for the application fee of INR 1500 which has to be paid in the form of demand draft drawn in favor of The Registrar, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune, payable at Pune.

The admit card containing the details of the candidates like their name, roll number, exam center, time and examination instructions will be available on the official website of the exam conducting authority ,one week before the commencement of the examination. It shall not be sent through post to the candidates.

The declaration of results for AIPGMET 2015 and AIPGDET 2015 will take place on the official website. A merit list will created on the basis of the marks scored by the students in entrance exam. The declaration of results will be done only for the candidates who’ve qualified the exam. Based on the ranks of the candidates in the merit list, the allotment of seats will be done.  The results will not be communicated through telephone.
