A state level entrance exam is conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Unaided Medical Colleges Welfare Association called the Uttar Pradesh Post Graduate Medical Entrance Test (UPPGMET) to facilitate the admission process for postgraduate medical programs such as MD and MS.

The aspiring candidates for this examination must have a citizenship of India and must also have passed the MBBS from a college recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI). The candidate must have also completed one year of compulsory rotating internship. A permanent registration certificate must also be obtained by the candidates from the MCI.
The application form for the UPPGMET 2015 exam will be available online and the candidates must visit the official website and download it. After filling the application form, the candidates must send the application along with all required documents and DD of applicable amount as the application fee payable at Bareilly to the address mentioned below.
The admit card containing the details of the candidates like their name, roll number, exam center, time and examination instructions will be available on the official website of the exam conducting authority from the first week of March 2015. The admit cards will not be sent through post.
The duration of this examination will be 3 hours and the question paper will consist of 250 questions, all of which will be multiple choice questions. The questions will be based on the syllabus prescribed by the exam conducting authority. The candidates will be awarded 1 mark for every right answer and 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
