A state level entrance exam is conducted by the Directorate Medical Education and Research (DMER) called the Maharashtra PGM PGD Common Entrance Test (MH PGM PGD CET) for the admission to postgraduate and diploma courses in twenty seven medical colleges/institutes in Maharashtra.

The candidates who want to apply for this examination must have a citizenship of India and must also have passed the MBBS from a college recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI). The candidate must have also completed one year of compulsory rotating internship by 31st March 2015. A permanent registration certificate must also be obtained by the candidates either from the MCI of from Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC).

The duration of this examination will be 3 hours and 30 minutes and the question paper will consist of 300 questions, all of which will be multiple choice questions. The questions will be based on the syllabus prescribed by the examination conducting authority. The candidates will be awarded 1 mark for every right answer and no negative marking will be done.

The application form will be made available to the candidates in online mode which shall start from the second week of November 2014. After filling the application form, the candidates must also make a payment for the application fee of INR 2500+ INR 60 which has to be paid in through the printed bank challan. 

The admit card containing the details of the candidates like their name, roll number, exam center, time and examination instructions will be available on the official website of the exam conducting authority from second week of December, 2014. It shall not be sent through post to the candidates.

The declaration of results will take place in the first week of March 2015 on the official website. A merit list will be created on the basis of the marks scored by the students in entrance exam. The declaration of results will be done only for the candidates who’ve qualified the exam. Based on the ranks of the candidates in the merit list, the allotment of seats will be done.
