The Foreign Medical Graduate Screening Exam (FMGE) is an exam that is conducted twice a year by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) for Indian citizens/overseas citizens of India having medical degree, to get a provisional or permanent registration with the Medical Council of India or any State Council of India. The FMGE examination is conducted in the months of June and December.

The candidate applying for the FMGE must be a citizen of India or an overseas citizen of India hold a primary medical degree which should be confirmed by the concerned Indian Embassy.  The candidates must visit the official website to know more specific details about the eligibility criteria for the FMGE exam.

The FMGE exam is a computer based test which consists of two papers (Part-A and Part-B) containing 150 multiple choice questions each conducted in a single day. The duration for each test will be 150 minutes. The candidates will be awarded 1 mark for every right answer and no negative marking will be done.

The fee for the FMGE examination is INR 5500. This fee includes the information bulletin as well. The candidate must make this payment through payment gateway. The candidates can use credit card, debit card or net banking for the payment of the examination fee.

The declaration of results will be done on the official website. The candidates must obtain above 150 marks out of 300 to qualify the examination. The result (whether Pass or Fail) will be uploaded on the official website of NBE and at the NBE office.
