The candidates who want to apply for this examination must have a citizenship of India and must also have passed the MBBS from a college recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI). The candidate must have also completed one year of compulsory rotating internship. A permanent/provisional registration certificate must also be obtained by the candidates from the MCI or any State Medical council.

The candidates applying for the Manipal PG Medical must visit the official website and register themselves first. The application fee for the post graduate medical courses is INR 600 and the examination fee is INR 1000. The candidates can make the payment through debit card, credit card or net banking.

The online test for the MD/MS and other Medical Diploma programs is a two and a half hour long test that consists of a total of 200 multiple choice questions. The candidates will be awarded 1 mark for every right answer and no negative marking will be done.

A merit list will be created on the basis of the scores secured by the candidates in the entrance exam. The ranks obtained by the candidates will be the basis on which the candidates will be called for the counseling process and the final allotment of seats.
