The aspiring candidates for this examination must have passed XII board examinations and must have also studied English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology and must have also scored a minimum of 60% marks. The candidates who are studying in XII are also eligible to apply for the examination

The pattern of the examination will be based on the syllabus prescribed by AIIMS. The questions will be from four subjects which are Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Knowledge. A total of 200 multiple choice questions will be there in the booklet of AIIMS MBBS 2015. The candidates will be given the choice to select the language of the question paper which can be either English or Hindi. The candidates will be awarded 1 mark for every right answer and 1/3rd marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. The subject-wise breakup of the question paper is given in the table below.

The application procedure for the AIIMS MBBS exam will be available online only. The candidates must visit the official website to fill the application form.  After filling the application form, the candidates must submit it online. The candidates must also make the payment for the application fee that can be paid through computer generated challans of designated banks or through credit/debit cards. The application fee for the candidates belonging to the General/OBC categories is INR 1000 and the application fee for the candidates belonging to the SC/ST categories is INR 880.

The admit cards containing the details like candidate’s name, roll number, exam center, time and instructions regarding the examination will be uploaded on the official website. The candidates must visit the official website and download the admit card. Candidates will not be sent admit cards through post.

The declaration of results will take place tentatively in the first week of July 2015. The declaration of results will only be done for the candidates who’ve qualified the examination. Based on the results, cut off marks will be declared, which will depend on factors, number of applicants and difficulty level in the entrance exam. The examination authority i.e. AIIMS will then release a merit list for the selection of candidates for 672 MBBS seats based on the cut off marks. This list will contain names of candidates which will be about 4 times the required number.
