The Bihar Combined Competitive Examination Board conducts a state level entrance examination called the Diploma Certificate Entrance Competitive Examination (DCECE) to facilitate the admission procedure to medical diploma courses which are Staff Grade A Nursing and Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (ANM) offered by Bihar Polytechnic.

The candidates wishing to appear for this examination must have passed 12th Standard examinations from a recognized board and must also have scored an aggregate of not less than 40% marks ( A minimum of 35% marks for the candidates belonging to the reserved categories). The candidates who’ve passed ANM and have also passed 12th Examinations are also eligible to apply.

The DCECE will be conducted in two stages. Stage I will be for PMD and PM diploma courses. The candidates who wish to pursue the nursing diploma courses must attempt this stage.  Stage II will be for PE, PNE and HM courses. The candidates who wish to pursue nursing diploma courses need not appear for this stage. The questions will be based on the syllabus prescribed at the higher secondary level examinations but the candidates must visit the official website to get more details.

The BCECE board will come up with the list of candidates who will be shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the entrance exam. This will be done after the completion of both the stages of the exam. The merit list will be the basis on which the candidates will be called for the counseling process.

The application forms for the DCECE will be available at select colleges in Bihar or select branches of Canara Bank. The forms can also be acquired through post by sending a Demand Draft to the DCECE board.
